The Virgin of Mercy and her sanctuary in Reus

The design shows an exterior view of the sanctuary of the Virgin of Mercy. The photograph focuses the keepsake on the building that brings together those devoted to this Marian title. It may appeal to someone who knows the place and wants a reminder of visits or celebrations shared there, explaining the reason for choosing this image.

The devotion is linked with the history of Reus and the tradition of an apparition to Isabel Besora, known as the Pastoreta, during the epidemic of 1592. The city agreed to build a chapel, giving shape to the sanctuary that grew over the following centuries. The account of the apparition belongs to the feast’s devotional memory. This background can make the gift meaningful to someone connected with Reus and its religious celebrations.
