Saint Ursula and companions mug

This Saint Ursula and companions mug can be a gift for an Ursula or someone familiar with the memory of the martyrs of Cologne. The painting and names on the reverse dedicate the design to their shared celebration. Add a few words about a visit, a reading or the community with which you maintain this devotion.

Saint Ursula and companions in an image of shelter

The painting shows Ursula with a diadem and an arrow, sheltering a group of maidens beneath her mantle. The composition brings the figures together in a scene from their religious tradition and may appeal to someone who appreciates such representations. The design lets you dedicate the gift to the group’s memory and explain why you chose this image for its recipient.

The veneration of these martyrs is linked with Cologne and the Basilica of Saint Ursula. An ancient inscription recalls the restoration of a place of worship associated with virgin martyrs. Later accounts expanded their stories and spread Ursula’s figure across medieval Europe. This background can make the gift meaningful to someone interested in religious art, Cologne’s history or ways of preserving a community’s memory.

The group’s name and the 21 October feast

The mug carries the name Saint Ursula and her companions, martyrs of Cologne and the 21 October commemoration. The reverse identifies the group to which the painting is dedicated. Choose it for the feast or as a keepsake for an Ursula in your family who shares this devotion.
