Saint Joseph Calasanz mug recalling his educational work

The portrait shows the elderly saint with black biretta and cassock and one hand on his chest. The image offers a personal keepsake of the founder of the Pious Schools. Choose it for someone familiar with his work who appreciates a gift connecting the saint with their own experience as a pupil, relative or educator, adding your own words when giving it.

Joseph Calasanz was born in Peralta de la Sal and served as a priest before settling in Rome. There he promoted a free school at Santa Dorotea in Trastevere in 1597. His approach combined Christian formation, reading, writing and arithmetic for children with limited resources. That dedication to teaching can give meaning to a message of thanks to someone who supported your first steps in learning or those of your family, connecting his history with a shared educational experience.

Origins, death, beatification and canonization

The Saint Joseph Calasanz mug carries his name, Peralta de la Sal as his birthplace and death in Rome on 25 August 1648. The reverse distinguishes beatification in 1748 and canonization in 1767 and includes commemoration on 25 August. These milestones accompany the portrait to remember the saint and his feast, linking the image to the reason behind your gift.
