The Prayer Etched in Stone

Natural slate, 25 × 25 cm, featuring the text of Psalm 91 laser-etched. The laser does not print: it raises the surface of the stone, leaving the letters in a very light gray that is part of the slate. It will not fade, chip, or scratch the way ink would.

The text is not our own translation: it is the official liturgical text of each language.

This is one of the longer prayers, so the piece features the identifying passage etched onto it rather than the full text: we prefer it to be legible rather than cramming everything in with unreadable typography. The complete text can be found in our blog post linked below.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the etching fade over time?
No. There is no ink: the laser raises the surface layer of the slate, and the light gray you see is the stone itself.

Does the wall plaque come pre-drilled?
Yes, with two 5 mm holes already made. The desktop plate comes without holes.

Is each piece identical to the photograph?
The etching is, exactly. The stone is not: it is natural, and its veining and edge vary from one piece to another.

Can food be placed directly on it?
The desktop plate serves as a tray or base. It should be washed by hand and is not dishwasher safe.
