Our Lady of Sorrows mug

This Our Lady of Sorrows mug can be a gift for a Dolores or a keepsake for someone who shares this Marian devotion. The painting and commemoration on the reverse dedicate the design to 15 September. Accompany it with a few words about a family tradition, a confraternity or the person who introduced you to Our Lady of Sorrows.

Our Lady of Sorrows in a devotional painting

The painting depicts Mary with a white head covering and blue mantle, a sorrowful face and raised hands. The scene focuses on the Virgin’s expression and may appeal to someone who appreciates this way of representing her. Image and name let you dedicate the gift to a person with a particular connection to the devotion and its celebrations.

The commemoration of the Sorrows contemplates the mother of Jesus beside the cross and is celebrated the day after the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. In John’s Gospel, Mary remains close to her son during the crucifixion. This presence accompanies the tradition of Our Lady of Sorrows and has inspired many religious representations. The background can help you dedicate the gift to someone familiar with these images who shares their devotional meaning.
