Blessed Álvaro of Córdoba mug with a story linked to Scala Coeli

Álvaro was a member of the Order of Preachers who dedicated part of his life to teaching and preaching. After teaching in Salamanca, he travelled to different places and worked for the reform of Dominican life. His memory is especially connected with the convent of Santo Domingo de Scala Coeli, near Córdoba.

In that community, study, contemplation and charity accompanied preaching. His pilgrimage to the Holy Land influenced the arrangement of oratories recalling scenes of Christ's Passion. The convent's history and this way of moving through the episodes of the Passion offer a context for understanding devotion to the blessed friar.

A gift to share a memory of Córdoba

The Blessed Álvaro of Córdoba mug can accompany a thank you to someone in a Dominican community, a family name day greeting or a memory of a visit to Scala Coeli. If the place has meaning for you, a few words on the gift card help explain why you chose this figure. Your words can connect the gift with the experience you share.

The design reproduces a devotional image of the blessed friar in a Dominican habit, with a cross and roses. His name and the 19 February commemoration appear on the other side. We print the composition by sublimation, and you can check it before adding the mug to your basket. Choose the printed text language in the customiser and check it in the preview.

The 3D viewer lets you rotate the composition and activate Both sides to see two opposing views of the same design.
