Glory Be Prayer Mug
The Minor Doxology, in Your Breakfast Mug
Glory Be to the Father is the shortest prayer the Church prays and the only one that asks for nothing: it is pure praise. It fits in a single breath, is said at the end of every decade of the Rosary, and concludes every psalm in the Liturgy of the Hours. This mug features it printed in full, in the language of your choice.
Two Sides
On one side, the complete text of the prayer set in serif typography, with a cross at the top and the "Amen" in golden capital letters. On the other, the dove of the Holy Spirit over a halo of rays, drawn in two inks — deep blue and gold — within a circle. You see one or the other depending on which hand you hold it with.
One Language, One Official Text
Each variant features the official liturgical text of that language, not a translation of our own. It is not the same: a word-for-word translated prayer can mean the right thing and still not be the one prayed in that country. They are available in Spanish, Catalan, German, English, French, Italian, and Portuguese.
The Latin original from which they all come is the same:
GlĂłria Patri, et FĂlio, et SpirĂtui Sancto.
Sicut erat in princĂpio, et nunc, et semper, et in sÇ˝cula sæculĂłrum. Amen.
