Saint Naomi mug with a painting by Evelyn De Morgan

The image shows Naomi and Ruth together in a landscape. The painting identifies the protagonists and connects the gift with the biblical account. You can choose it for its composition or for the meaning a story of family, loss, welcome and shared faithfulness holds for the recipient. It offers a reference for a personal conversation rather than replacing the words you wish to share.

The Book of Ruth recounts that Naomi left Bethlehem with her family to seek food in Moab. There she lost her husband and sons. When she decided to return, Ruth chose to accompany her and share her people and her God. They arrived in Bethlehem during the harvest. Their bond gives a context for accompanying the gift with a reading or personal words about someone who has walked alongside you.
