Saint Ansgar mug
Ansgar is also known as Ascario, Óscar or Anscario. The Saint Ansgar mug can be a choice for someone who celebrates his memory on 3 February or has an interest in the Christian history of northern Europe. The design brings together an image of the saint as a bishop and a reverse with references to his origins and death.
From Benedictine education to mission
Ansgar was born in the area around Amiens and received his education at Corbie Abbey. There he began a Benedictine life that included teaching. Later, he moved to New Corbie in Saxon territory and took part in a mission to Denmark, where he devoted some of his work to educating young people.
This path can give the gift particular meaning for someone who knows his story or is interested in European Christian traditions. The Saint Ansgar mug lets you accompany the name with specific references: the area around Amiens as his birthplace and Bremen, in the year 865, as the place and date of his death.
An episcopal representation in stone
The chosen image shows a statue of the saint with a golden mitre and crozier, holding a model of a church. The composition preserves this sculptural representation and places his name, life details and 3 February commemoration on the other side. You can check what appears on each side by rotating the design.
The ‘Both sides’ option in the 3D viewer presents two opposing views of the same mug, with rotation to observe other angles. You can also select a right-handed or left-handed orientation. The number of mugs you wish to receive is chosen separately from the double view.
We print the Saint Ansgar mug by sublimation, with the image and text already prepared. Choose the printed text language in the customiser and check it in the preview. You can dedicate it to an Óscar who celebrates this saint or someone close to his devotion. For other names in your family, browse our collection of religious mugs and choose the reminder that best suits each recipient.
