Pope Saint Paul VI mug

This Pope Saint Paul VI mug brings together a colour photograph and the life milestones of Giovanni Battista Montini. It can be a gift for a Paul or someone interested in the contemporary history of the Church. The portrait offers a recognizable reference for sharing a memory, a reading or a conversation about the pope and his times with the person receiving it.

Pope Saint Paul VI mug with colour photograph

The photograph shows him wearing a white skullcap, a red mozzetta trimmed with ermine and a decorated stole. The image preserves the character of a papal portrait, with the clothing clearly visible. It can appeal to someone who appreciates historical photographs and wants a keepsake that connects a familiar face with the information about his life printed alongside it.

Born in Concesio, Montini trained for the priesthood in Brescia, worked in the Secretariat of State and supported Catholic university students. As archbishop of Milan, he paid attention to workers, newcomers and outlying neighbourhoods. His papacy continued the Second Vatican Council in a changing world. These connections give the gift a context for someone interested in the relationship between faith, everyday life and the Church’s response to social change.

Life milestones and recognitions on the reverse

The Pope Saint Paul VI mug includes his name, birth in Concesio on 26 September 1897 and death in Castel Gandolfo in 1978. Beatification in 2014 and canonization in 2018 appear as distinct recognitions. The design also records commemoration on 29 May, bringing the portrait together with the dates that identify the person remembered.
