Immaculate Conception mug

The Immaculate Conception mug can be a gift for someone who celebrates this Marian solemnity or preserves a family devotion to its image. The painting accompanies the name of the celebration and the date on the reverse. A personal message can connect the gift with a community, a feast or the person with whom you want to share that memory.

A Marian painting of the Immaculate Conception

The depiction shows Mary in a white tunic and blue mantle upon the moon, surrounded by little angels. The composition belongs to a widespread iconographic tradition and may appeal to someone who appreciates Marian religious paintings. Choose it for an image familiar to the family or for the recipient’s connection with a church that preserves this devotion.

The solemnity expresses the Catholic teaching that Mary was preserved from original sin from the beginning of her existence. It refers to Mary’s conception, distinct from the virgin birth of Jesus. The definition of the dogma drew on an earlier history of worship and theological reflection. This background can help you explain the meaning of the celebration and connect the gift with the tradition behind your choice.

The solemnity on 8 December

The mug carries the name Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the commemoration on 8 December. The reverse identifies the celebration that inspires the painting. The prepared text accompanies the image to share a memory of its feast and Marian devotion.
