It is a view of the city, chosen to accompany the saint's name on the reverse.

Saint Sergius of Cappadocia mug with a reference to Caesarea

Tradition places Sergius' martyrdom in Caesarea. The preserved accounts present him as a man living in retreat, dedicated to prayer and sharing his possessions. His refusal to abandon the faith is central to this religious narrative, which has kept his memory among the February commemorations.

The night-time image of Kayseri's walls and towers provides a geographical context for the design. The photograph represents the city today; it does not identify the specific site of the martyrdom. This choice may be of particular interest to someone who appreciates Cappadocia's Christian history or wishes to connect the memory of Sergius with a place.

A gift to celebrate his name

The Saint Sergius of Cappadocia mug can accompany name day greetings for someone called Sergius or a gift for someone who shares this devotion. If the recipient knows the region or is interested in its ancient Christian communities, the design can open a conversation about that history.

The other side features the saint's name and the 24 February commemoration.
