His memory is connected with the Barcelona area and the place where the sanctuary of Sant Cugat developed. Evidence of his cult is older than detailed accounts of his torments. Traditions about his origins and journey were transmitted in different versions. This context allows the antiquity of his veneration to be remembered without establishing a biographical chronology that the sources do not establish.

His name and commemoration on 27 July

The Saint Cucuphas mug has his name and commemoration on 27 July on the reverse, following this design’s use of the calendar proper to Barcelona and other Catalan dioceses.
