The Saint Basil the Great and Saint Gregory of Nazianzus mug brings together the two saints commemorated on 2 January. You can choose it for someone interested in the Church Fathers, for someone who bears one of their names, or to keep their celebration in mind during your everyday moments.

Basil and Gregory together in a Byzantine fresco

The image comes from the church of Panagia tou Arakos in Cyprus. It depicts both saints in episcopal vestments with written scrolls; the shared composition is suited to remembering these two Cappadocian Church Fathers. The appearance of the fresco gives the design the presence of an old religious image.

The reverse carries their names and the 2 January commemoration. On this Saint Basil the Great and Saint Gregory of Nazianzus mug, their shared celebration is at the heart of the text: both figures keep their own identity within the same keepsake. It can be a thoughtful gift to accompany reading, a catechesis gathering or a family conversation about each person's namesake saint.

Check the image and the names before ordering

The 3D viewer lets you rotate the design and check how both sides look. Selecting “Both sides” brings up two opposing views of a single mug, so you can see the fresco beside the reverse. The number of mugs you wish to buy is selected separately.

You can also choose a right- or left-handed layout. The image and names are already part of the composition, so you do not need to copy them out or arrange the text. We prepare the design using sublimation, based on the choice you check in the customiser. Choose the printed text language in the customiser and check it in the preview.

If you are giving the Saint Basil the Great and Saint Gregory of Nazianzus mug, think of the moment that person will open it: their name day, the start of the year or a thank-you for shared teaching. You can discover other celebrations and names in our collection of religious mugs and choose the keepsake that best suits each recipient.

Fresco of Saints Basil and Gregory in the church of Panagia tou Arakos, Cyprus.
