The account recalls a man who renounces the advantages of a wealthy family to share the poverty of people seeking alms. The narratives developed his memory in East and West and transmitted an image of humility and hidden life. A reading of that tradition can accompany the gift while respecting its narrative character rather than treating the episodes as a secure chronology.

Name and commemoration on the reverse

The Saint Alexius mug includes his name and commemoration on 17 July. The calendar reference accompanies the icon and identifies the celebration to which you dedicate the keepsake.
