The composition preserves the recognisable elements of the Guadalupe image and may appeal to someone who wants a reminder of their devotion. The name on the other side connects the depiction with the Marian title that inspires the gift.

The shrine at Tepeyac holds a central place in Mexico’s religious history. The Guadalupe tradition connects its origins with Juan Diego and his mission to ask the bishop for a church. The accounts of the tilma and flowers form part of that devotional history, passed down in the memory of its communities. This background can give meaning to a gift that recalls a pilgrimage or shares a family tradition.

The commemoration on 12 December

The mug includes the Marian title and the commemoration on 12 December. The reverse identifies the celebration and accompanies the Marian image.
